Opportunities to Serve in Music Ministry
Solemn Mass Choir
The Solemn Mass choir sings at the 9 am Mass every Sunday from September to June. In addition to singing on Sundays, this ensemble sings for all major parish liturgies (Christmas Midnight Mass, Holy Week, episcopal liturgies, and high Holy Days). Rehearsals are held every Thursday at 7 pm in the choir loft. The repertoire includes traditional hymnody, chant (English and Latin), polyphony, English anthems, and more. The Solemn Mass choir also sings in the Diocesan Choir for the ordinations held at St. Mark and other various diocesan events.
Pueri Cantores (Children's Choir)
The Pueri Cantores sings on a monthly basis, typically at the 11 am Mass from October to June. Other major events include singing for the Christmas Eve Vigil Mass, Easter Sunday Mass, and the annual Festival of Lessons and Carols. The Pueri Cantores also have the special privilege of singing for all Masses celebrated by the Most Reverend Bishop Michael Martin at St. Mark. Rehearsals are held every Wednesday at 4:30pm in the Parish Hall. All children who have received their First Holy Communion or are in formation to receive their First Holy Communion are invited to join.
Coro Hispano (Spanish Choir)
El coro hispano canta cada domingo para la Misa Solemne celebrada a la 1pm. Los ensayos son cada miércoles a las 7:15 pm en la iglesia. Todo adulto interesado esta invitado a comunicarse con el Director de Música.
Cantors
Cantors serve primarily at the 5 pm Vigil Mass, Sunday 11 am Mass, and various masses for high Holy Days. All cantors are required to be in the Solemn Mass Choir.
