High School Youth Ministry Coordinator
Saint Mark Catholic Church is seeking a full-time High School Youth Ministry Coordinator, who is a dynamic, energetic, practicing Catholic. The Coordinator of High School Youth Ministry should be passionate about inviting, accompanying, and inspiring high school youth into a lifetime of pursuing deeper knowledge and love of the Catholic faith as intentional disciples of Christ.
Job Responsibilities:
- Plan and lead regular youth ministry nights (Life Teen resources), geared toward supporting the development of teens spiritually and socially - forming a community of engaged Catholic disciples.
- Recruit adult Core team and parent volunteers, train and equip Core Team in skills of small group leadership and mentoring through regular collaborative team meetings.
- Coordinate and lead retreats and trips including parish youth retreats, diocesan retreats and pilgrimages, summer Steubenville Atlanta Youth Conference and Life Teen Camp opportunities, and social outings.
- Develop and oversee youth discipleship, leadership and service opportunities, through effective relational ministry and accountability.
- Develop strategies for outreach and support for parish high school teens and families, pursuing contacts and relationships with local High Schools and Youth Ministries.
- Collaborate with Faith Formation team to support all youth formation, and ensure the implementation of a united vision across all ages in the parish community.
- Communicates upcoming youth ministry programs and events.
- Works with the Director of Faith Formation to develop and manage an annual youth ministry budget.
- Implements and ensures adherence to all Diocesan Safe Environment protocols.
- Attends required staff meetings, continuing formation events, and other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
An ideal Youth Ministry Coordinator Candidate should have:
- An active relationship with God through regular prayer and reception of the sacraments.
- Be a practicing Catholic in good standing
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills - and comfortability with public speaking, with the ability to relate to youth, parents and volunteers.
- The ability to think creatively and adapt to changes to develop innovative approaches to youth ministry in response to the parish’s circumstances and needs.
- A bachelor’s degree in Theology, Catechetics, or a related field is preferred
- 2+ years of youth ministry experience, either professional or volunteer.
- Strong administrative, organizational, and computer skills.
- A willingness to work evening and weekend hours for youth ministry and parish events.
- Preferred bilingual in Spanish and English.
