Requirements for All Volunteers

"In compliance with the “Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People,” the Diocese of Charlotte has established policies and procedures for all employees and volunteers. These procedures require Background Checks, Volunteer Profiles and Code of Ethics to be signed by anyone who is providing services to children, the sick, the disabled, or the elderly. In addition most services require Protecting God’s Children Certification." - Father John Putnam, April 2015

The following are the requirements to be a volunteer at St. Mark Church:

  1. Completion of the Volunteer Profile. This must be turned in to the Parish Office.

  2. Completion of the Background Check Form.This must also be turned in to the Parish Office. 

  3. Read the Forms and Policies for Volunteers document.Once you have done that, complete the Acknowledgement of Receipt Form, and turn in to the Parish Office.

  4. Complete the Protecting God’s Children Workshop. This may be taken as a class in person, and will be available about once a month at St. Mark.

  5. If you want to take the "Protecting God's Children" class online, click here for instructions.

  6. Once you have completed the class, turn in your certificate to the Parish Office.
